Expectation for Colorguard Students
You are now a member of the Steele Canyon High School Colorguard. We are a fairly new organization that is building and hopefully establishing a classy reputation. Here are a few rules and regulations to follow to ensure we are giving off the best image possible.
Attendance- It is imperative that you do not miss any practices or performances. When one person is missing, it affects the entire team in many ways. If you must miss due to emergency or something that absolutely cannot be rescheduled, you must contact an instructor and fill out a green form. If no effort is made to make up the practice, your grade will suffer. In case of sickness, you will be allowed to sit out and take notes, with a parent letter. If sickness is severe, you will be expected to make up the practice when you are well, within 2 days of returning to school.
Tardiness- Being late will not be tolerated. Pushups, running or other extra work will be assigned. We understand that most students do not drive, so we are asking for parents’ cooperation on this matter. The later we begin practice, the later we will finish. On that note, students will be dismissed from practice at the time specified. They will then need to put their equipment away and walk outside to be picked up. 10 minutes is usually enough for this.
Dress code- You will be expected to dress in a classy manner, in accordance with school dress code. Tank tops will be allowed after school hours, but no bra straps are to show. Shorts should be tasteful. In uniform, no food or drinks are allowed, except water. While in uniform, you will be expected to behave in a way that speaks well of our program.
