All |
Maintaining a clean environment (band room, practice rooms, lockers, instrument storage, upper room, and theater) Being knowledgeable about current events in the program. All equipment in the correct place (practice, concerts, sectionals etc) Maintains “espirit de corps” Uniform checks after performances Keeps up on dot books and helps sections prepare for dot book checks Organize section outings… even if only one other person can attend. |
Drum Major |
Manage Sectional Forms Dr. beat, speaker, cables, wireless packs, batteries, gloves, score, and drill. Lead one sectional a week and work with section leaders. To continue in spring. Practice instrument publically to set example Work hand in hand with president to achieve all of leadership goals. Work out and lead work outs for the band. BE THE EXAMPLE Prepare to warm up the band if Ms. Luck is taking care of business. Works with section leaders Moves around the band room for rehearsals to keep those students in check. Make a list of pep band songs to refer to by memory at football games. Conduct rehearsals in Ms. Luck’s absence (substitute days unless sectionals are required) |
Assistant Drum Major |
Act as another drum major and take lead when drum major is not present. Conduct third quarter if visiting band is present Assist Drum major and staff as needed. |
Section Leader |
Take role every rehearsal with a text "Date: All Present, In correct Attire, Dot Books filled out, on time. Student A forgot his dotbook" Communicates with section at all times... even if they do not have a cell phone! Teach section members about theory, scales, and aspects of the program... especially behavior. Arrive early and SET THE EXAMPLE. Have plans for every sectional. Know where your section lockers are so you can maintain a clean locker area. |
Pit |
Maintain Inventory of Pit Instruments & Equipment Lead trailer loading Electronic control Take role every rehearsal with a text "Date: All Present, In correct Attire, Dot Books filled out, on time. Student A forgot his dotbook" Communicates with section at all times... even if they do not have a cell phone! Teach section members about theory, scales, and aspects of the program... especially behavior. Arrive early and SET THE EXAMPLE. Have plans for every sectional. Battery |

Manage Admin Goals Coordinate with Booster President with communication about student events Organize Banquet Organize committees: Pops, Banquet, Concerts Coordinate with Social chairs to help maintain family environment Start section contests and rewards for goals for the program. Coordinate all curriculum nights, open houses, spring flings, etc. With with recruitment Prepare agendas for every leadership meeting and post publicly Communicates with Booster President |
Vice President |
Organize Restaurant Fundraisers Get all fundraisers approved through ASB. Assist president with delegating and monitoring tasks. |
Publicity |
Create Flyers for Concerts Email Admin, Counseling, Teachers regarding success of program Communicate with Broadcast regarding season Promotional video Banners for all events Talking about the program to teachers, students, anyone who will listen Sending thank you cards to those that matter Maintain all forms of communication (Social media should be updated every other day!) Visit middle schools for promotion. Work with directors. Get information to the broadcast every time there is a success or event with Steele Regiment. |
Social Chair |
Organize one social event a month: dress up days, restaurant days (coordinate w/ V.P.) Movie Nights (Can coordinate with drama) Work with publicist Communicate with leadership and director on what the band family needs. |
Librarian |
Prepare master copy list for copying music per instrument Create marching band folders Organize one piece to scan from library Highly suggest T.A. one block Audit scanned library to dropbox library Put away past music Keep music filed and organized. Maintain a "Love music folder" "Figure it our Friday" - prepare music to sight read every Friday (Make sure that there is an actual part for every student to play) |
Equipment Manager |
Create map of trailer Keep track of inventory - instrument check out forms, mutes, percussion Organize areas of the room for more efficient use Maintain Lockers Maintain toolbox Maintain and record repair lists of instruments.Work with organizing the band room to make everything efficient throughout the year. |
Assistant Musical Director |
Conducts musical pit for a minimum of 2 songs each act. Rehearses pit when director is absent or outside the pit Rehearses vocals when able Must understand and know the entire show to fill in, in case of an emergency. (Note, this position is not always offered and is not a separate leadership position) |
